Meet the ORC team
Julie Vigneault, Co-founder
Julie is a Canadian expatriate who has chosen the warmth and greenery that Costa Rica offers rather than the northern winter of Quebec. Three years ago, she decided to leave home and her career in the film and art industry to become a partner with her father in the family business in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.
As a strong advocate for marine pollution, she started performing cleaning ups of coastal areas monthly with the help of her local acolytes. From then on, she knew that the movement had to grow larger. Believing that unity is key, she and Sandy came up with the idea of a National Beach clean up day, which was held on December 30th 2017 on over 25 beaches throughout the country. That day, Operation Rich Coast was born!
Brian Moghari, Magic Maker
Brian is a USA citizen now based in and loving Costa Rica.
When it comes to telling a story, Brian makes it a masterpiece. An accomplished timelapse cinematographer, editor, and after effects artist, Brian's filmmaking aims to inspire the mind, to engage the heart, and, with any luck, gets people moving their feet, out the door, and towards their own adventure.
Brian is one of the main two cinemagraphers for the currently on NatGeo playing series "Untamed Costa Rica"
Sandy K. Schmidt, Co-founder
Sandy is a German born resident, with expertise in boutique hotels, online marketing, event management and community outreach. Her case of wanderlust has taken her all over the world, but her true passion for the environment and all living beings eventually brought her to the tropical and lush of Costa Rica. She dedicates her free time working for various local non-profit organizations, teaching yoga, and is responsible for the creation of a wildlife committee in Manuel Antonio.
When she and Julie met during a beach clean-up in the community, their shared passion to ignite change kickstarted the first ripple that has now turned into a national movement.

Pernille Karlsen, Overall Ninja
Pernille is a Danish citizen, who left her country in 2012 to pursue a degree in graphic design in New York. Her growing passion for preserving the planet has led her to work on several projects raising awareness for environmental issues. Her senior thesis in art school was a public service campaign focusing on the growing plastic pollution problem.
After graduating and working 2 years in Corporate America, she decided to dedicate all her time to volunteering and making a difference. She came across the Operation Rich Coast movement, and contacted Julie to offer a helping hand. Soon after, she made her way to Costa Rica, where she is assisting in various projects such as beach clean ups, photography and design.
